BIOGRAPHY Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 1967. Hector Ledesma trained from 1989 to 1994 between Santo Domingo and Madrid, at the National School of Fine Art, APEC University and the Altos de Chavon Art and Design School in Dom. Rep. He lived in Madrid between 1992 and 1997, where he studied at the Circulo Bellas Artes, Madrid, in the Actual Art Workshops of Mati Klarwein, Zush (Evru) and Herminio Molero, and the Artistic Serigraphy at El Elefante Rojo Workshop, Madrid. He has had over 80 individual and collective expositions internationally, including; Barcelona, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Martinique, Miami, Montreal, Oaxaca, Quito, Santo Domingo, San Juan, Santiago de Cuba, and Trinidad and Tobago, etc. His work has been featured in El Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Spain and El Museo de las Casas Reales, Dominican Republic. His artwork can be seen in several books and editions, such as “Dominican Painting from 1890 to 2000”, “Dominican Plastic Arts Encyclopedia”, and “Cesar Suarez Pizano Art Collection”, all from the art critic Candido Geron, and “Caribbean and Central America”, published by Art Editions and Francisco Nader, Latinamerican Art, etc. Hector Ledesma’s works live in private and public collections such as the “Voluntariado de las Casas Reales of Santo Domingo” and the Madrid City Council. His works also reside in corporate collections in Madrid, New York, San Juan, Panama City, Miami, and Santo Domingo. |
